Batik Scrap Quilt
Last fall my local quilt shop held a yard sale. They opened their parking lot, nicely shaded IMO, to local quilters to sell their extra material, quilts, or do-hickies. One of the employees told me that the year before she made out quite nicely, purchasing brand new jellyroll for $3! So I attended with a set budget of $40. Once I got there it got extended to $60. You know how it goes! In my defense, I bought a ton of fabric. One sweet purchase was a trash bag filled half way of batik scraps - all different colors, starched, and mostly square or rectangle. It cost $5! I'm not a huge fan of scrap quilts and really who could be sure if the scraps would fit a specific pattern. So I just went willy nilly and sewed them all together! Right now it measures about 36x48. Here's what it looks like:

Pineapple Quilt
As most of you don't know, I love the TV show Psych. To say that it's amazing would be an understatement and to say it's the best show on TV would be silly but it's among the top 5- still impressive. Anywho, we were watching it last night and I noticed a beauty. This beauty only got two seconds of air time but thanks to wonderful technology and fandom, a still was created:

Garden Quilt Top
Hey y'all! Another quilt top finished - hurray! This one I'd like to give to my mother once it's done. When I was a wee lass we would plant flowers together in her flower garden, it had a weeping cherry tree at the center and looked so lovely with flowers in bloom under its umbrella-shaped branches. I was really fortunate and grew up on a gorgeous sect of land with woods as my neighbors and generous, loving parents. They inspire me everyday, with quilting and everything else. Anyways, here it is:
Quillows are FANtastic!!
Hey there! My computer pretty much broke and I only bought a new one just last week. No worries! I haven't stopped quilting, of course. And I've also started using starch on my fabrics but more on that at a later date.
Lately my projects have been quillows! What a fantastic idea - a comfy, warm, soft quilt with a foot pocket that doubles as a pillow! They just tickle me pink for some reason. Here they are:

Sunshine and Ocean Waves
Bonjour! Earlier this year I made a quilt by McCall's titled Sunshine and Marmalade. I love it and my significant other loves it because I made it but also mentioned that it's "really pink". Now, I don't think the pink overpowers the quilt but the point is that it's feminine. So I decided that a masculine counter quilt should be made, opposite colors but same pattern. Using this color chart maybe:
